The flourishing Belmont Theater District is to get a new venue, located just east of Stage 773 and Theater Wit. Dubbed Chicago Theater Works, the new space at 1113 W. Belmont Ave. (formerly the Belmont Pourhouse) is to be inaugurated with “We Gotta Bingo,” an interactive theater experience somewhat similar in form and style to the long-running hit “Tony ‘N’ Tina’s Wedding.” Now Open!

Did you ever hear that urban legend of “The Babysitter and the Man Upstairs?” You know, the one where the babysitter is getting harassing phone calls, so she calls the cops, they trace the call, and say it’s coming from inside the house? Well it’s true you know. For six unlucky teenagers on New Years Eve Night, 1978, they’re gonna find out how true it is!

Unlucky in love twenty-somethings conclude the solution to their relationship problems is to stay single, as they mingle through the bars of Wrigleyville. The Guide to Being Single gives you rules for screwing without getting screwed: You never call or text. You always go to their place. And most importantly, you never break the rules. But what if the fun of rules is breaking them?
In 2011, a young gay teen hangs himself–but the events leading to the suicide began decades before, in 1986, when bullies tormented Nancy and her closeted best friend. Twenty-five years later, the cycle continues when Nancy is confronted by another bully–her son. Ty will be playing the role of Rex, Nancy’s son. Performance is May 16th, 2 PM at Center On Halsted Hoover-Leppen Theater.
